// we welcome you!

Thanks for taking the time to check out River Valley Church! I'm Mark Goens and I have been the Lead Pastor at River Valley since 1997. Prior to that, I was on staff here as Pastor of Student Ministries for over seven years. I have enjoyed marriage to my wife of over 30 years, Dana, and the Lord has given us four wonderful grown children: our sons Tyler & Cody and our daughters Nicole & Natalie.

River Valley Church is a multi-campus, non-denominational church seeking to meet the needs of individuals and families in our community. We desire to share Biblical solutions to contemporary situations and hopefully are able to communicate to all generations. The main solution that we emphasize is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ which is laid out so clearly in the Bible.

At River Valley you can expect: relevant biblical messages, authentic worship and music with both an upbeat and reflective flavor, “come as you are” informal worship services, multiple classes, and ministries for children, students, and adults of all ages and Life Groups that meet all over the valley where people connect in smaller groups for the purpose of spiritual growth, encouragement, fellowship, and outreach.

We believe in a Real God for real people... He has initiated the opportunity for an exciting relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said, "I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly." John 10:10

At River Valley, we welcome all people. We welcome skeptics, seekers, and of course, sinners. Our responsibility is to introduce you to Jesus and we believe that He will change you to make you more like Him. We are convinced the answers are found in Christ, not Christianity - in a Jesus relationship, not in Jesus religiosity.

Even though River Valley is a large multi-campus church with many ministries, we have a strong conviction to not function as an isolated church in this community. We are enthusiastically unified with the "Church of the Valley" (a network of many Christ-centered, Bible-believing churches in the Rogue Valley). We pray together, occasionally worship together and work together in different ways to best meet the needs of our community. We see ourselves as "One Church" maintaining the "Unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" - maintaining our unity while at the same time respecting our differences.

Thank you for allowing me to briefly introduce River Valley Church to you. This website is full of information that gives much greater detail of what God is doing here. Read on! And if you have any questions please e-mail us or give us a call at the church office at 541-476-7761. However, the best way to find out about us is to come on out and join us in one of our weekend celebration worship services. Come and discover the joy of knowing Jesus - it's all about Him!

Enthusiastically,

Mark Goens
