Adult Ministries
River Valley Community Church is committed to reaching out to all adults over the age of 21 in Josephine and Jackson Counties through programs and the development of personal relationships. The verse we claim is Psalm 71:18 "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come." This verse gives us a vision and directs our actions for the future years. The percentage of adults in the general population is rapidly changing. By 2040, when the last of the Baby-Boomers reach retirement age, 25% of the American population will be over 65. Today in an average congregation, one-third to one-half are over 55. Following is a breakdown of available ministries:
Adult Center:
Schedule of Classes
This community center serves all adults who reside in Rogue Valley. The
adult center is open the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each
month and provides classes of special interest on a wide range of topics from
wood carving to computers.
Soup & Dessert:
Our monthly Soup & Dessert Ministry provides wonderful fellowship and
some great topics of common interest that impact on us who reside in Southern
Oregon. Special guest speakers discuss a variety of topics of interest ranging
from politics, health & wellness to safety and security. Lunches are enjoyed
on the second Wednesday of every month, September through May.
Care Ministry:
At River Valley we minister to the whole person. Our Membership Care Ministry
takes the love of the Lord to shut-ins, those with health problems, the bereaved
and others in need.
Home Communion Ministry:
Provides the assurance and fellowship of the Communion Service into the home
of those unable to participate at church.
Helping Hands Ministry:
Program of care and concern for widows, single moms, physically limited
providing help and assistance with home maintenance problems.
Special Events:
Throughout the year events are provided as an outreach and allows us to
invite our unchurched friends. Some examples of past activities :
